Hamidi Kashmiri
The short-story, is one of the most important literary subgenres in Urdu literature, despite its relative youth. This was influenced by western and literary concepts and tendencies, as well as the contemporary industrial and mechanized environment. Prof Hamidi Kashmiri, is a well known Urdu poet, writer, educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir University. In his stories, he has attempted to evoke some of the emotional struggles and psychological confusions of the fleeting life of modern man.
