Juana Pericás Bisbal nació en Palma de Mallorca en 1924 y reside en Madrid. Es licenciada en Filosofía y Letras, Especialidad Filología Clásica y ha estudiado Periodismo. Ha ejercido la docencia en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Mujer cosmopolita ha viajado mucho y se desenvuelve muy bien en francés inglés, además de castellano y mallorquín. También ante el piano y la cocina. Tuvo cuatro hijos a los que contó estos cuentos ante las figuras del belén y ahora tiene ocho nietos, a los que también se los cuenta. Todos han crecido con el mismo imaginario. La autora sabe que la narración oral viene de Oriente, pero la letra impresa afianza lo narrado. En todo caso, los Cuentos de Navidad (Dickens le arrebató antes el título) los mecanografió en su día y figuran en un álbum, tamaño octavilla, junto a las fotos en blanco y negro de las figuras del belén familiar. Las fotos en color de las otras figuras son actuales. 10
