The book 'Death by Chocolate' came about when our Librarian suggested that the information and description of how the Death by Chocolate Contest started and how it was run, should be written up and published for future references.Since this contest was my program and ran it for nine years it was time to share for future leaders to take it on. I decided to make a book out of it and included some of our winners in both Youth and Adult divisions, including their winning recipes.I will offer this book for sale and all proceeds will go to the Library. I feel it is a worthy cause and help with our many programs offered by the Library. I wanted a very colorful book so the book is full of pictures that will help it sell well in our community. Chocolate is loved by many and they will want to try these recipes. Our contest is limited to 10 entries each in both Youth and Adults. When we open the contest to the public on a Saturday afternoon they have 20 pieces of chocolate to sample. All contestants are given a number and all voting is done by number only. That way we can find our winners by 4:00 P.M. that afternoon. I have volunteers doing the tabulations and our Friends of the Library Committee donates our prize money.
