Ethische und philosophische Fundierungen werden erklärt. Zweifel und Skepsis an meditativen Verfahren werden durch Verweise auf hochaktuelle, wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen reduziert. Nach praktischen Anleitungen und Ratschlägen führt der Autor in die Themenbereiche buddhistische Ethik und westliche Neurobioethik ein und stellt Zusammenhänge mit dem buddhistischen, harmonischen Weltbild her. Insbesondere wird der Zusammenhang mit der Leerheitsphilosophie herausgearbeitet. Ein eigenes Konzept für Geist/Bewusstsein wird dargestellt. Die Bedeutung von Ethik, Meditation und Leerheitsphilosophie für moderne psychotherapeutische/psychoanalytische Verfahren wird erklärt.
