Osteoarthritis of the knee is a common chronic rheumatic disease, representing a major cause of pain and disability in most of the world. The aim of this evaluation was to assess the efficacy of blood flow restriction (BFR) muscle strengthening as an adjunct to conventional rehabilitation in patients with gonarthrosis. We found that adding BFR muscle strengthening to a conventional rehabilitation program optimized the management of gonarthrosis patients. This approach deserves to be integrated into standard protocols.
