This book assesses healthcare management of thousands of patients with hypertension and diabetes in Saudi Arabia using newly suggested procedures. Chapter 1 assesses long-term blood pressure control using the Time in Therapeutic Range (TTR) metric. Findings reveal that 74% of Saudi patients had a TTR < 50%, raising concerns about hypertension management and adherence to guidelines. The research has shown that increasing TTR reflects the effectiveness of treatment and disease control and contributes to reducing complications resulting from uncontrolled hypertension. This requires ensuring that most or all blood pressure readings are within the required therapeutic range according to the latest 2017 American AHA/ACC guidelines. Advancing age, weight gain, increasing number of years of illness, and high blood cholesterol were found to be associated with decreased TTR ratios. Chapter 2 explores the impact of telehealth on diabetes care, highlighting its benefits and challenges in maintaining glycemic control during crises. It underscores the transformative potential of virtual clinics, offering insights into adapting healthcare systems to improve chronic disease management.
