Esther is an outstanding theater star. She is bursting with talent and personality. Esther is very popular with the crowds who watch her perform. When Esther’s birthday arrives, her parents surprise her with a pet parrot. Esther is thrilled, and a friendship forms between Esther and her pet. Each day when Esther comes home from theater rehearsal, she practices her lines for the play. Esther’s pet parrot observes her closely. The parrot listens so intently that he begins imitating Esther, and he actually starts speaking! The two friends sit down together for a nice pineapple treat. Esther suggests they put on a play for their neighborhood about buried treasure. Pirate agrees, and they decide to let the neighborhood kids join in the performance, so the children can discover their talents. They determine the parrot will become Pirate, the talking bird.The two friends put on an amazing performance! After the show, they decide to play hide and seek. A friend covers Esther’s eyes as the children hide the special treasure. When Esther opens her eyes, she is excited to find a nice pineapple cake right there in front of her. The children all have fun laughing, playing in the sun, and eating pineapple cake. They all go on to put on more awesome shows, and always end up with pineapple on their plates!
