The highest duty in the world is the proper ordering of the world, but in modern science, where knowledge is power, everything is at the service of quite other priorities. The dialectic of master and slave is also present in the relation between man and Nature, although it would be too much to pretend that our role here is that of a master since we become reactive with respect to what we want to dominate.
