The Skills Pack

Build finance skills you can test, review and maintain.A useful AI skill needs more than a well-written prompt. It needs clear inputs, repeatable calculations, bounded judgment and evidence that the result meets the rules. The Skills Pack shows how to turn recurring finance work into reusable packages of instructions, scripts, tests and supporting files. Four worked packs connect the method to variance analysis, close exceptions, management reporting and forecasting.Work through input contracts, deterministic calculations, output checks, versioning and release decisions. Inspect failures as well as passes, then build your own pack in a practical capstone. The companion files provide the packs, case data, tests, worksheets, example stages and exercise answers used in the book. For finance professionals and builders who want to understand what their AI-assisted workflows actually do-and what still needs a human decision.First edition, 2026.
