The Truth about Israel

The Truth About Israel is a clear, serious, and morally grounded answer to the accusations most often made today against Israel, Zionism, and the Jewish people. In a time when Israel is called colonialist, apartheid, racist, genocidal, foreign, or illegitimate, many readers are left with slogans instead of history. This book offers a calm and structured response. It does not deny Palestinian suffering, nor does it claim that every Israeli policy is beyond criticism. Instead, it seeks something deeper and more necessary: truth, context, historical memory, moral clarity, and intellectual honesty.Raphael Afilalo leads the reader through the ancient Jewish bond with the Land of Israel, the biblical and historical roots of Jewish peoplehood, exile and return, the rise of Zionism, the British Mandate, the Balfour Declaration, the UN Partition Plan, the 1948 war, refugees on both sides, the 1967 war, Jerusalem, settlements, peace offers, Gaza, terrorism, and the modern accusations of colonialism, apartheid, and genocide.Written for fair-minded readers, students, Jews seeking clear answers, and anyone confused by today’s debate, this book explains why the Jewish people are not strangers in Zion and why Israel’s legitimacy cannot be erased by political slogans. This is not a book of hatred. It is a book of memory, facts, responsibility, and truth.
