Ce travail consiste en une étude pétrographique du calcaire de Kwilu dans le sous-groupe de Lukala exploité à Songololo par la cimenterie Kongo (CIMKO). Du point de vu macroscopique 22 sondages contenant ont étés décrits et réparties en trois lithofaciès. L’analyse des échantillons ramenés au laboratoire a montré une diagénèse de la micrite qui se transforme en microsparite et sparite. L’intérêt de cette étude réside sur l’étude pétrographique des différents types de lithofaciès du calcaire exploité et de les classer dans l’échelle stratigraphique locale. Les résultats de ce travail nous ont permis de ressortir trois lithofaciès de couleur gris claire, gris verdâtre et gris sombre classés repartis dans la formation de Bulu et de Luanza de l’unité de Kwilu.
