Have you ever worried about fitting in? Khalil does. Sometimes he worries and sometimes different situations make him anxious. Khalil has a big question: What if my pieces don’t fit? He wants to have friends, play with other children, and to simply fit in. Journey with Khalil as he discovers a second very important question and see how his mother and father teach him tools and coping strategies -- but Khalil must also learn to love himself as he is. 'What If My Pieces Don’t Fit,' is a story about loving all of yourself. Learning to celebrate our differences and live joyfully can be a challenge, but one we must pursue. Author’s Note: The story was written specifically to honor all of those living with autism. Our thirteen-year-old son guided the process and development of this book. Together, we crafted a story pulling from his elementary years and his most valuable lessons and tools.
