Applied Behaviour Analysis is an approach to behaviour modification which is used, amongst other things, with young people diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. This work examines the Applied Behaviour Analysis approach from the perspective of early years education. The first chapter covers the basics of the characteristics of autism and the Applied Behaviour Analysis approach. This is followed in the second chapter by a description and, in the third chapter, by an analysis of selected methods of Applied Behaviour Analysis. The parameters used for this analysis are the concept of generational order in Childhood Studies and the power analysis of the philosopher and sociologist Michel Foucault. Using these parameters, the study examines the understanding of education and development on which the Applied Behaviour Analysis approach is based. It also explores how the Applied Behaviour Analysis approach can be reconciled with a childhood education perspective.
